Back to the Hills

The anticipation was killing me , and on this particular day I had to go. Gathered up my Squatch bag with all my Bigfooting needs, and hit the road. But where? The only place in Ohio I actual love. The hills of hocking. Going to the hocking hills region is an adventure lovers dream. I've talked about this place before on this blog, and it's still very mysterious, plus as creepy as all get up. it may look a little small on the map, but there are plenty of places for those Squatches to slip away.

It was a very misty humid day, my glasses fogging up the entire time I was there..But even with all that mess going on continued to see oddities around every corner. Blackhand stone over hangs  are everywhere! With Small wholes in quite a few of them. Took a peek inside one and it went back about 3 ft, and it looked like a tunnel to the right as it curved slightly. Not exactly sure if it was a tunnel but it's defiantly possible that it went back further. Seen a bunch of ripped up sticks under a large boulder and thought it looked weird and out of  place. So obviously I had to take a picture!

You guys want me to shut up about trees yet? Well too bad! If you remember I am very intrigued at why theses branches are being pulled off, and by what. Here are a few pictures of interest in regards to those Awesomely silly trees.

Over top of one of the overhangs some trees were hanging over camouflaging the entrance to the cave or crevasse  (I could only slightly see behind it.)

I have a gut feeling that this place becomes alive at night! So many out of place trees, and oddities. With it be closed after dark, theses Squatches have plenty of time to play until the people arrive in the morning. We may never know really, but its awesome to think about at the very least.

I have a few reasons to get up in the morning, and one of those reasons is the Sasquatch.
He may be a hairy beast, but I think he is just a big softy on the inside. I Love Sasquatch, Bigfooting, and the chase. Its these middle bits that mean the most in life. Not the beginning, or  the end. The middle. Enjoy your excursions, don't worry about "finding" Bigfoot. You need to collect data and find the clues, in which will help us in learning about the life of the Squatch. That's your job Bigfooters, and if you love what you do ( like me) and have a passion for this field, you will try your best. And really that's all we can do, Just try our very best and give respect to Sasquatch.

Squatchy Goodness

 Bigfoot.
I have a lot of enthusiasm and wonder about this subject.
 I get up everyday thinking
"what's going to happen to make this day full of Squatchy goodness?"
Learning about Sasquatch is the spice of life for me and always in the forefront of my mind. The day before yesterday was a gloomy day,and for a girl like me these days are the absolute best. Being excited was an understatement!

Incredible

So I jumped into my Chevy and headed out east, to roll the dice on another nature preserve.(Yes another one) This one felt special to me, it had been a while since I had traveled this far on my own. Not because I didn't want to, but for having had limited use of my car in the past few weeks. It took me a mere 40 minutes to get there from Columbus. (where I reside) I really enjoy the freedom it brings me , and the escape it gives from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Ah, who am I kidding? I love everything about Bigfooting!

Blackhand Gorge Nature Preserve

957 acres seems like plenty of room for a Sasquatch to be frolicking freely! The licking river runs just east of the trail, and there are a few little stagnant ponds just to the west. The narrow sandstone gorge was just one of the breathtakingly beautiful features of this park. The wildlife was plentiful, and I had noticed plenty of Squatchy hiding spots around almost every corner! I had even seen some cute baby deer just a few feet away and some very rascally squirrels throwing nut shells at me!

My mind is always in investigative mode, one of the  many things I focus on out in the field are the trees. They hold a bunch of clues and intrigue when it comes to Bigfoot in my opinion. On top of this gorge were trees that had "fallen down" and trees that looked as if the branches were pulled off of them making them almost bare. I always have my eyes open to this. Also alot of strangely placed trees blocking the path that lead up to the top of this rocky gorge. This looked like a perfect Squatchy vantage point to me.

thought this looked interesting and odd

here are some trees with  the branches pulled off.
If any other animal would do this, I would really love to know!

This place is also very historical. The name came from a black hand shaped Native American Petroglyph, which was engraved on a large sandstone cliff. This was along the northern side of the licking river. Unfortunately the Petroglyph was destroyed in 1828 when canal builders had dynamited the face of the cliff. This was during the construction of the Ohio-Erie canal which actually runs through the gorge. You can still see the towpaths as well.  If I were a Sasquatch I would totally call this awesome place home. Having many food and water sources, secret hiding spots, and being closed after dark; I think its safe to say this place has a whole lot of Squatchy Goodness to go around. This preserve was full of mysterious wonders. I will most definitely be back to try and solve them.

Just Down The Road

This Semi-Secret  location was near New Albany Ohio. This Park/Preserve was on a scenic route past Flanagan's bar. (if you want the exact location email me at peacesquatchsummer@gmail.com.)

Last time I was here stumbled across some pretty odd things.  Noticed almost immediately a bunch of large branches were ripped off the tops of trees and laying in 3 neatly stacked piles. There was a weird little rounded cage  made out of bent sticks, and  what looked to be a raised grave/mound made of rocks and mud. This mound  had a width of 2 adult males, and about 7 ft -7.3 ft long. At the base of the mound  there was a park sign that looked like it was taken and ripped from its original location, and then shoved in the ground upside down.

Another occurrence happened while sitting with my back facing  a "Highway Of Trees." This tree line was near a small pond and  while sitting on a bench heard some possible teeth chattering. (This is the most accurate information taken from my April 2013 notes).Unfortunately did not take any pictures or recordings of these instances.(Kicking Myself !  and you can kick me too!)
I really didn't expect to have any experiences at this park.We all make mistakes! I now take my camera everywhere, just in case something Super Squatchy happens.

Naturally, I wanted to follow up from the last time I was here. Possibly catch some more definitive evidence and learn more about this area. First thing I seen was a clump of yellowish blonde hair. I picked it up with a piece of paper and examined it.(smelled, felt and looked through the fibers.) I'm not an expert on Bigfoot hair at ALL!   It didn't have an odor of any kind and  felt like my own hair to me. Seemed  like someone just cleaned out their hairbrush and threw it on the ground.( clean your brushes out in the bathroom ladies!)Dang it!

Totally excited to see if the weird things in the forest this April were still around. Calmly and peacefully went back to the same spot and  Nothing really looked the same. Of course it was a few months ago, and storms have come and gone.Someone possibly could have tampered with it, or it may have been cleaned up by park rangers. I was pretty let down by this, as you can imagine. But nothing can keep me down for too long!

Experiment! Took my Harmonica to the park and played it for about 20 minutes in 2 minute increments. Sitting on the bench adjacent to the woods, held a few notes hear and there, just sat back and had a blast doing this by myself. While finishing up  heard two loud thuds on the ground in the distance. (like large logs being dropped). I was the only one at this park and it was around 8 pm. After that I just sat  waited and listened for a good long while. Heard some trees rustling and then silence. So maybe it worked!?!  Don't really know for sure, but very promising.Going to be using this method again in the very near future. I'll be back!

Have many more experiments in the works, be sure to check back soon!

Squatchy Baby!

Squatchy indeed!
Was able to visit a State Nature Preserve in Gahanna, Ohio today. It smelled amazing and was completely gorgeous, especially under the tree canopy.  This place is literally 10 miles from my house and is very easy to find. I have went past this place for many YEARS and have never stopped to see it. I took a few photos along the way I would like to share with you.
These all were taken on May 22, 2013 around 7pm.

Tree bent over the trail

this was about 2 miles through the forest

THIS ONE WAS VERY AWESOME TO SEE

Close up on last photo

While walking deep into the preserve, came across a creek with a cute little bench, and then just across the creek heard some tree branches snapping , Just a few seconds after that I heard more snapping to my left.
And yes, my curiosity almost got the best of me again! I had to stop myself, it was getting dark and hard to see inside the thick brush, and impossible to see any movement.  I didn't hear anything else like that the rest of the day. This was a pretty successful day in my book, will certainly be going here to do more research. Seen some possible nesting sites and got to reconnect with myself in the process. Great day for me!

Ohio and its Preserves

89 Nature Preserves open to the public, there are 136 all together scattered throughout the state of Ohio.  Obviously they are no hunting zones, which is prime real estate for a Sasquatch.

In 1942 the Ohio Historical Society officially listed its first Nature Preserve, Cedar Bog. Its located on the edge of Kettering , and home to over 100 different species of wild life.
Some also believe it is the home of Bigfoot.
People have reportedly seen an ape-like creature walking around the Woodburn rd area, which actually runs near the bog.
Soon after the sightings started to happen the state erected  a large barbed wire fence, either to keep the people out, or keep Bigfoot in, a few will say.

Ohio is my home state, born and raised in the suburbs of Columbus. I have spent my childhood going into the woods playing in creeks, mud, swinging on ropes, etc. There are a lot of strange noises in those woods, and a lot of abandoned  property's, buildings, shacks, and old barns. I have even seen a few abandoned towns near Cincinnati.
This habitat makes perfect cover for Bigfoot to hide and live.

Go visit Ohio and enjoy the beautiful Nature Preserves it has to offer, you never really know what you will here or see in my squatchy state.

Bigfoot In The Hills?

          Welcome to Peace Squatch

I will be posting the most accurate information, on my findings in the field as a Bigfoot researcher.

As a young child my family and I would go to Old mans cave a lot during those hot summer days, because of the cool gorges and caves it has to offer. I really had no idea how extensive this area was until I was an adult, and I am born and raised in Ohio! The hills are very unique and If your not from Ohio, you may not have even heard of them. Here is a map I got from the parks website.

My most recent trip was on  March 9th-11th 2013.
The first place I decided to go was the rock house, in Rockbridge,Ohio. One of the most secluded areas of the hocking hills park. what I noticed and kinda of freaked me out was how quite it was, no animals, not even birds were around! while walking down the trail their were some odd looking mounds that looked to be made of sticks, mud and rocks. These mounds had a hole on the side that looked to be the size of a cantaloupe.  I did not get too close to it, for respect of what was in it (if anything) and personal safety. Surrounding these mounds were several large branches broken  and what looked to be a rounded stick structure, defiantly out of place. Below is the best picture I could find of this.

The next place visited that day was Conkles Hollow Nature Preserve.  One of the most beautiful places the region has to offer in my opinion. My idea was just to take a whole lot of pictures of the cliffs above and surroundings then later go on my computer and see if anything interesting popped up. Out of the photos I took in the field that day this one below was the most compelling.

There has been a history of sightings in this area since the 1880s, with some being reported as recent as 2011. Have a few more experiences here I will post next time. Cannot wait to go back again, and see what else I can find!

Thank you for reading, until next time,
