Sweet smelling, easy breezy Portland! Don't know how I
let this trip sit on the back burner for so long. After a 6 hour plane ride and alot of sweaty confusion I had finally made it. I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderfully awesome Oregon turned out to be.

this is me before the max train, trust me you don't want to see the after pic! |
For my very first day I took a long walk to the max train from the hotel from which I was staying.
I was determined to have a real city experience, and boy was it one! First of all I do not have a smart phone like everyone else does in the world (or so it seems) I really had no clue where i was going on this train, and didn't really care! Ended up at some street festival down by a fountain.(I really didn't know where I was like I said ) Seen some awesome street performers, Drank enough beer to shut down the city and did some random Bigfoot Interviews. Have been doing these "interviews"for many years. I just never thought about telling anyone before. Basically I ask strangers what their opinions and theory's are on Bigfoot.
I have heard some really interesting things over the years and enjoy the Sas-randomness which ensues.

Guy Edwards was awesome, And also this random photo bomber |
HopsSquatch !
Well first of all anything with the word squatch in it and hops I automatically love. This was one of the best times I've had in a while. I got to listen to Joe Beelart speak or "King Of The Clackamas" as some of you may know him by. Not to mention it was held at a Pub! The creator Guy Edwards was an extremely nice person, and did a fabulous job. Thank you to all the people at HopsSquatch that showed me great hospitality and a wonderful time. Cheers!
You must go to this event! It is held the last Sunday of every month in Portland, Oregon.
its packed with awesome stories and beautiful Bigfoot history!
Pretty much my entire life I have been called weird, I'm use to it, and don't care anymore! Its not to say that I am a bad person, just a little kookie, I really thrive on it! And drink all the weird koolaid I can. Its not like my family didn't help make me that way.(thanks mom! haha ) My mom is the type of person who introduces her self as "Abby Normal.". So yeah. Its about time we found you Portland, I think you were made especially for us. Keep Portland Weird ! And always remember to embrace your weirdness!

My Amazing casts made by Thom Powell |
Bigfooting with Thom
One of the major pluses of my adventure was going Bigfooting with Thom Powell. He is awesomely eccentric, and a great guy all around. He did me a solid by letting me go with him. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures with him. Just kind of forgot as we were talking the entire time. (I'm sure he won't mind) After an extremely Squatchy drive, We made it out to his research area sometime after midnight. Before I could say anything he started mixing up some plaster. I was a little confused as to why for a minute.(insert blonde joke here) He was teaching me a little about it in the process, which I appreciated. I had no clue he was actually making them for little ol' me! As everyone who reads this blog knows I have never seen or touched a cast in my life, but now I actually own Two of them boy was I psyched! While we waited for the plaster to dry we made our way out into the wild in search of "the big guy." We started to use a flashlight, then he told me to turn it off and let my eyes adjust to the dark. Seeing as I wanted to experience this his way I just went along for the ride. Heard a few different rustlings in the trees but we couldn't pinpoint exactly what the sounds were. We walked around a bit , and I got stabbed in the face with a sticky bush. Ouchies! Then he took me to where he had a few experiences before. We sat down by a tree for a minute talked about how he heard some crashing coming down the same spot we were siting. After a few minutes we got up and he made a fire, and just chatted about different thoerys and ways of the Squatch. It was great to talk to someone with such an open mind for once. Also we drank water out of beer bottles (haha.) cannot say I have ever done that before. He also played some music as we were sitting and talking, it was totally boss!
While we were siting by the fire I got an odd feeling of anxiousness in my heart, and started shaking uncontrollably. I obviously am very healthy and know that for a fact. So what was it that caused me to shake and feel this way? (I didn't eat any sushi if that's what your thinking)
I have got this feeling a few times deep in the woods, Never to this extreme though. Believe me when I tell you this was odd! I have a good head on my shoulders and know there are countless possibilities for this (maybe?) Was I feeling some Sas-Energy? who knows.
Anything is possible in life. You just have to go out and Bigfoot with an open mind and an open heart. I just want to thank Thom Powell for being so awesome, It was an experience of a lifetime for me. I would definitely go Bigfooting with him again. Thank you for the casts bro and really enjoyed talking with you!
Portland was absolutely amazing to me. The people were friendly, the beer was too good, and the Sasquatch I love is close by. Not to mention it was vividly green and beautiful. Wishing I could click my heels and be there right now! I will be back and when I return ,will be making the lovely Bigfooters all the fried chicken they can eat! That's a Promise!
~Peace, Love and Squatches~
