Squatchy Happenings

One of my main research areas has had some recent happenings this week.
As I was catching up upon my nightly readings I stumbled across a similarity in another persons finding. I have seen on a number of occasions, Sticks protruding from the ground about 1 foot long and 2.5-3 inches deep in what looked to be nutrient rich soil ( bugs crawling, plants etc.). I have only seen and read about this in Ohio so far.If you know of this in other states please let me know. This week I seen it again in my area. I am not really sure why or how this happens. Could be nothing at all, or it could be an important piece to the puzzle.

Here are a few pictures I took.

Went into the woods to be awesome and Squatch my heart out when I started feeling little spiky things hit me in the head. This happened while I was looking up at the trees taking photos.(which I often do)
It seemed like whatever was throwing these spiky fruits wanted to hit me! And they were coming from a few different trees from different directions. Still continued to take pictures while I was getting pelted (very difficult!))and then suddenly my camera battery died. I had just replaced these batteries a few days prior.Totally intrigued and confused at this moment.

Since I couldn't physically see the creature that was attacking me, or take any more pictures, (and quite frankly was tired of getting smacked in the face and head)  I moved on down the trail. This all occurred around 430 pm. And the fruits stopped flying when I made a right onto the path.

As you venture down this trail there are a few dried up ponds and stagnant water holes to the left hand side (and mosquitoes of plenty)  Thought I had heard someone/something whistle at me across the dried pond with logs surrounding it. Along with some branches breaking in the same area. So Obviously  I whistled back, I did this twice. About 7-8 seconds later got an awesome response! Two whistles back! An exhilarating feeling, to say the least. Was totally not expecting that at all, but like my mom always says "when you least expect it, expect it!"  Peacefully I kept trying to get more responses back with some more whistles and singing the Jeff Buckley song " Hallelujah,."  I sat there on a log for awhile and waited but I heard nothing else. I always make sure no one is at this research site before hand.
This day I was alone, or was I?

I go Bigfooting in some of the most unexpected places here in Ohio. People are living there lives oblivious to the fact that Bigfoots could be a hop, skip and a jump away. I do this not only because its my passion, but because there is always a chance, and endless possibilities when it comes to Sasquatch.

I like to leave the questions open ended on this blog because I want you to think about them, and want you to learn from my mistakes, and findings. I would never want to compete with any other Bigfooters or anyone for that matter. We should always be on the same team for the sake of the Squatch.
Together if we collect as many little clues as possible, one day they could lead to something much Greater. That is my hope anyway.

Get On Your Bikes and Squatch!

Yikes!Bikes!

"Bike Squatchin'' is a totally boss way to spend those long summer days. What is Bike Squatchin you might ask? I just kind of made it up in my head one day (although it probably already exists) and I just went with it!  I've always loved biking and thought it would give a different perspective on Bigfooting.

You can either drive to your destination with your bike in the trunk of your car, or you can ride your  bike to your squatchy site. I choose to bike to my research area and Continued to bike through the woods.  But you need to keep your "scanners" on.  Its at a fast pace so be very careful, take it as slow as you need to.You do not want to hit a tree or get broke in the process.(or miss any evidence) Make sure you take a backpack with all of your research materials, and plenty of water, you will need it!
It is ten times harder to take photos while riding a bike, especially if you are an inexperienced biker or a klutz! Don"t forget to stop and take pictures and smell the beautiful wildflowers along the way.

(Warning: Children please don't try this on your own! Please be accompanied by an adult.)

Clearing next to a creek at undisclosed location

This has been a very nostalgic experiment for me. Riding my bicycle has always been a major stress reliever for me .When I had to get away from certain unhappy situations as a child, I just jumped on the bike and away I went!  I will always have fond memories of going into the woods on bikes and going down neighborhood hills racing the boys. ( I always won hahaha)

Looking down into a gorge
Had a fantastic time learning this new technique. Nothing but awesomely fun times to be had Bike Squatching!  While not much evidence was collected on this trial experiment, I will never give up hope on Sasquatch!  So glad I got to be in the thick of it this past week. I would most definitely recommend other Bigfooters to give it a try. Keeps you cooler on those long hot days, and will get you there a whole lot quicker. We all need a little excitement in our lives from time to time, and this was just the ticket for me.

Summer Fried Chicken

Our DNA makeup, environment and lifestyle choices make up the people that we our today. Growing up with no money in a poor suburb of Columbus, we always made do with what we had.Which therefor has made me a very frugal person. Looking back at my childhood now, I would not change a thing. Life has taught me a very valuable lesson, a lesson you cannot learn from any book. Being underprivileged has made me a more empathetic person in the long run. I would rather be rich in my heart then rich in my pockets any day.

Went kinda deep there I know... but now I'm going deep fried! Even though I don't eat fried food everyday, you shouldn't deprive yourself all the time :) So this is my personal recipe for Fried chicken! I'm letting it out of my secret vault for you Bigfooters and readers to enjoy!

This will make enough for about 4-5 people depending on appetites

Little Chicken Bittys

Ingredients:

3lbs of Boneless Chicken cut into quarter size pieces

2 cups of all purpose flour or (for Gluten free use rice flour)

1/4 cup Cornstarch

1/2 cup of Corn meal

2 tbs Smoked Paprika

3 tbs  Garlic Powder

5 tbs  Salt

5 tbs  Black Pepper

2 tbs Onion powder

2 tbs Chili powder

Optional: Ground red pepper for heat 3 tbs

Wet:
3 cups of vitamin D milk
Optional : Franks red hot sauce

Don't forget to add some love!

Turn on frying receptacle  to 350 degrees, or heat oil in a large pan on medium high heat.
After cutting up the chicken, let it soak in the milk for about 15 minutes or longer. (the longer the better!)
I like to add  hot sauce to the milk. but that is Optional.
In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients with a whisk until its all incorporated.
Then take about a handful of the chicken pieces after they are done soaking, drop them into the dry mixture and toss them around, until they are completely covered. Drop into hot oil and wait for them to rise to the top. They will be done around 6-8 minutes. ( if you get low on the dry mixture add more flour as needed)

This is literally the cheapest fried chicken recipe I could come up with without sacrificing any quality.
Enjoy this, and share with friends!

The Eternal Optimist

Be brave, and be true to yourself always. Don't waste one more moment on this earth, just go for it, scoop your dreams up and make them yours.  Keep a positive attitude and disposition, and you will be happy with just " being." These are just a few things I try and instill in myself to stay at peace.

No matter how many bad things happen to me, I still walk around with a smile on my face and a song inside my heart. I will not let anyone or anything take that from me.
In this world their are people who are very angry and want to bring you down, they want to push you into being angry with them, so they will have some company in "negative land." Don't go there, it is a sad place, I have been there many times, it's no longer on my itinerary.
